Exec: Fixing Michigan ‘has to get moving now’

Board member John Rakolta puts public pressure on lawmakers at the Detroit Chamber’s Mackinac Conference. "We're now in a depression in Michigan," Rakolta told me, and he said that won't change until the state's top politicians make massive changes.
Rakolta blames a burdensome tax structure for starters, partisanship as a contributing factor, a longstanding state atmosphere of "entitlement" and what he described as "horrible race relations" for convincing out-of-state businesses to avoid Michigan.
