Kelly Chesney
Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Kelly Chesney is Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Business Leaders for Michigan, her responsibilities include managing and facilitating media relations, as well as integrating marketing and communications strategies that support and advance the organization’s mission.
Prior to joining Business Leaders for Michigan, Kelly served as the Director of Communications for the former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land. In that position, Kelly managed all communication and public affairs efforts for the Department of State. In addition, she supported the agency’s priorities by spearheading coalitions that merged the needs of state policy makers, the business community and interest groups. Kelly has held various other positions including serving as the Communications Director for the State of Michigan’s Budget Office and the Department of Information Technology in the administration of former Governor John Engler. She also worked for the Michigan State Senate where she helped lead the communications efforts for 22 senators. Early in her career, Kelly worked for Lansing-based WLNS-TV6.
